Chinese people are fond of drinking when they get together with their friends. As is depicted in the picture, two men are clinking their bottles, saying, “Feelings deep, bottoms up!”
Dining table is one of the most important places where people socialize with others. And drinking is a common etiquette on the dining table, which has been deeply rooted in China. However, is it reasonable to drink as much as possible to show that you are in a close relationship with someone you are drinking with? Definitely not. To propose a toast is a good way of showing your friendliness, but to make others drink up at a time is not. Moderate drinking is beneficial for people’s health, but excessive drinking is on the contrary. In fact, there are many other ways to strengthen relationships with each other.
To conclude, it’s not reasonable to force ourselves or others to drink up the wine at a time. As long as we treat our friends sincerely, we’ll have deep feelings with each other.
