今天的2016考研英語時(shí)文泛讀來自2015年9月5日的《經(jīng)濟(jì)學(xué)人》，講到美國(guó)共和黨人Donald Trump欲參加總統(tǒng)競(jìng)選的話題。文中涉及的很多政治相關(guān)詞匯是我們需要掌握的內(nèi)容，因?yàn)槠鋸?fù)現(xiàn)的概率很大。比如running for president競(jìng)選總統(tǒng);Republican共和黨人;nominee提名人;the Second Amendment第二修正案等等。來看一下具體內(nèi)容：

“This country is a hellhole. We are going down fast,” says Donald Trump. “我們的國(guó)家是一個(gè)藏污納垢之所。我們的人民正在迅速地墮落，”唐納德·特朗普說。“We're a laughing-stock all over the world. The American dream is dead.” It is a dismal prospect, but fear not: a solution is at hand. “I went to the Wharton School of Business. I'm, like, a really smart person,” says Mr Trump. “It's very possible”, he once boasted, “that I could be the first presidential candidate to run and make money on it.”“我們已經(jīng)成為全世界的笑柄。美國(guó)夢(mèng)已死。”前景是渺茫的，但別害怕：解決的辦法唾手可得。“我上過沃頓商學(xué)院。是個(gè)聰明人，”特朗普稱。“我有可能會(huì)是第一位利用這種聰明發(fā)財(cái)致富的總統(tǒng)侯選人”。

When Mr Trump first announced that he was running for president, he was dismissed as a joke. A wheeler-dealer with lots of experience of reality TV but none whatsoever of elective office wants to be commander-in-chief? Surely, sophisticates scoffed, no one could want this erratic tycoon's fingers anywhere near the nuclear button. But for weeks now he has led the polls for the Republican nomination.特朗普宣布要競(jìng)選總統(tǒng)被當(dāng)成一個(gè)笑話。全世界人民都在納悶：一個(gè)毫無政治經(jīng)驗(yàn)的投機(jī)倒把之人竟然想當(dāng)三軍總司令?怎么會(huì)有人想讓這么一個(gè)任性的土豪染指核按鈕。但最近幾周，特朗普卻在共和黨總統(tǒng)提名人選的民調(diào)中一直保持領(lǐng)先優(yōu)勢(shì)。

Mr Trump is not in thrall to the hobgoblins of consistency. On abortion, he has said both “I'm very pro-choice” and “I'm pro-life”. On guns, he has said “Look, there's nothing I like better than nobody has them” and “i fully support and back up the Second Amendment” (which guarantees the right to bear arms)..特朗普并沒有遵從政治口徑一致的一貫原則。他說過“強(qiáng)烈支持女性有選擇權(quán)”，也說過“主張生命自由權(quán)”;在槍支問題上，他既說過“最喜歡的是沒有人擁有槍支”，也說過“完全支持并贊同(持槍權(quán)利)第二修正案”。

照現(xiàn)在的局勢(shì)看，特朗普雖然表達(dá)出了清晰且大膽的立場(chǎng)，但是，這是一種令人討厭的立場(chǎng)。身為億萬富翁，他的造勢(shì)活動(dòng)不差錢。老油條們?nèi)匀徽J(rèn)為，共和黨最終會(huì)像過去那樣，抱團(tuán)支持一位主流候選人。但是，國(guó)際社會(huì)不這么看。共和黨應(yīng)當(dāng)認(rèn)真聽聽特朗普說了什么，然后把選票投給另外的人。秋季是2016考研復(fù)習(xí)的攻堅(jiān)階段，希望大家再接再厲，考研任重道遠(yuǎn)，小編與你同在!
